Oh, buckle up your taste buds and get ready for a flavor rollercoaster at Vientian Cafe, the Laos cuisine paradise where culinary dreams come true and taste buds do the cha-cha! Let me tell you about the Papaya salad Lao Style - it's like a party in your mouth! Sweet, tangy, and spicy all at once, it hits you with a flavor explosion that will make your taste buds break out in a conga line! Now, the Lao sausage, well, let's just say it was like the opening act that didn't quite steal the show. Maybe the real deal in Laos is where the magic truly happens - teleport me there, please! But wait, hold onto your chopsticks because here comes the star of the show - the chicken curry! It's like a spicy hug from a flavor wizard, the perfect balance of heat and taste that will have you feeling more awesome than a superhero with a sidekick made of chili peppers!

Great place to get your eats on. Excellent variety and the service is phenomenal. Oddly, the cell service on the area blanks out, so get all your texts out the way beforehand. :)

Love coming here whenever I'm craving Lao food. My favorites are always the kasoy, tham som (papaya salad) and Lao sausage. This time we got the Lao jerky instead of the sausage and it was very good! This is my go to spot if I'm looking for authentic Lao papaya salad, I've eaten at most Thai/lao spots in Oakland and nobody can make a better Lao papaya salad than Vientiane (in my opinion). Their kasoy is also the best (in my opinion) as well. Other restaurants will not put enough bean paste but Vientiane makes theirs so good and flavorful. Support this local restaurant, you won't regret it!

Even though I was hesitant to come here, the food did not disappoint! Neighborhood is a little sketchy but if you get to go, you should be fine. I got the beef larb salad, nam kao, Lao sausage, sweet basil chicken and vegetarian egg rolls. The total was around $50 for a large portion of food. Service was quick and nice as my food was ready when I got there. The nam kao was delicious. I have had nam kao at a few Thai/lao restaurants in the east bay but they did not have the same crunch, too salty or a little heavy handed on the msg. My husband's favorite was the Lao sausage. Ps: the entrees do not come with rice unless it's a rice dish
